Designed for teenagers, this media room needed to accommodate a crowd of friends, withstand everyday use and still create the right atmosphere for watching movies. Five large south-facing windows made light control essential, leading to full blackout curtains, carefully placed bias lighting and a completely reconsidered switching plan.

A deep pit-style sectional anchors the room, while an integrated dry bar provides a mini refrigerator, concealed trash pullout and LED-lit display shelving. Sconces and layered lighting, all independently dimmable, allow the room to shift from bright and social to dark and cinematic. Reflective surfaces were intentionally avoided to eliminate screen glare, and durable materials keep the space comfortable rather than precious. Even the coffee table is outdoor-grade and nearly indestructible. The result is moody, tactile and highly functional, designed to handle teenagers exactly as they are.
